Does anyone have information about the MOERSFELDER family or anyone with that surname? I have reason to believe that our family immigrated to the USA from the Heise-Darmstadt area in 1847. Please any information would be greatly appreciated. The family has mainly settled in Wisconsin and is flourishing.

Hi,

I have some documents from my grandmothers side showing a Jakob Moersfelder immigrating from Rheinhausen, Germany in 1835 to Jackson, Wisconsin. The family seems to have a large presence in Milwaukee.

I've indexed family death notices for a Rosette Moersfelder, née Groth (d. 1924); an announcement that a Nena Moersfelder married a Louis Kohn in Rock Island, Illinois, 1882; also notices in 1866 for a missing Maria Mersfelder. The notices were placed by John Mersfelder, T/Jackson, Washington Co., Wisconsin.
