Our Branch came out west during the gold rush and settled in the Santa Rosa area. Any research of yours saying that a member of your family went west.

I wanted to know if you knew Levester Hammell!

My grandfather's name is Levester Hammell, and my Father's was Edward Hammell, I never really knew my father or his family and I was wondering if you knew my grandfather at all. Email me at onlyfoolsliveonce@hotmail.com

My Grandfather had a brother named Lester Hammell, died sometime in the 70's, didn't really know him, but understood by my grandfather he big in the Rodeo lifestyle, but don't know if he had any children.

I did some research, guess what, found more names that date back to 1890 from the County of Sonoma in California.

The names that i found are

Henry Harrison Hammell, when i got his name he was 49 years old, no date on when he was born or died.

Fred Hammell, 18 years old when i got his name.

Other names are

Gladys Hammell
Oral Hammell
Lurana Hammell
Walter Hammell

I am Ketrinna' s half sister. I am to looking for information about our family. Our grandfather lived in Santa Rosa, CA since I was 3 years old. They just recently moved to Rio Vista, CA. About 3 or 4 years ago. Our grandfather has been married 2 times. Any information given would be really appreciated

Walter had 2 sons:
Earl Hammell (1894-
Lester Hammell
Fred had a son:
Marion E. (1898-1983)

Here is what I found out.

My grandfather's name is LaVester Hammell, his father's name was Walter Hammell, who he did not know until about 6 months before Walter died. Walter was a butcher for Santa Clara University. LaVester (Lefty)'s mother was Vivan Bunnell Hammell and she died giving birth to Lefty. Walter's dad was a lawyer and Walter's mother was a gypsy.
