Additional wife of Cornelius (1739-1815)

Additional wife of Cornelius (1739-1815)

Classification: Query
Surnames: Davenport Jennings Edmister Weaver Cole
Deeds from Sussex Co NJ and DAR records seem to confirm that Cornelius, before he was married to (maybe) cousin Rachel, married Elizabeth Cole.
At least 3 children from marriage to Elizabeth:
Catherine (1770-1843) married John I Davenport, at least one child, Gehila (1790-1859)
Mary (abt 1773) married David Edmister (Edminster), at least 5 children
Aaron (abt 1780) married Eleanor King (11 children, died in Michigan)

Anybody wanna discuss/dispute ?

Hi, I have a Humphrey Davenport that was born 1767. He apparently had a first daughter, named Rachel, second, named Elizabeth. His wife also named Elizabeth Lucretia, went by Lucretia, perhaps too may Elizabeths around? They had first son, John, born 1801 in NJ and second son, Cornelius, born 1803 in NJ. So it looks, barring any other children before them, that Cornelius would be named after the paternal grandfather. Since none of the records for the Cornelius married to cousin (?) Rachel list Humphrey, could it be that this Cornelius married to Elizabeth Cole is the father of my Humphrey?? Thanks!
