Any one familiar with the Squirreltown New Jersey history. Ran between Freehold and another town (??)

Squirreltown is next to the St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Freehold, which is near where the Battle of Monmouth took place during the Revolutionary War (6/28/1778).

I've attached a link which mentions Squirreltown and the surrounding area. I hope you find it interesting.
