John C. Conners B. @ 1875 in IL d. @ 1940 in CA (Fireman from New York City and retired @ 1936 and went to CA where he died.)

I have Petition for citizenship of a John Tierney 29 years of age from Delaware Co, PA dated September 28, 1850 and signed September 13, 1853 vouched for by a Daniel Crowley, with info stating born in Galway Co, Ireland January 1, 1821, emigrating to America from Liverpool to the port of Philadelphia on the May 16, 1847.

Another Petition for a John Tierney from Lancaster Co, PA vouched for by a James Smith dated Aug 22, 1854 signed September 28, 1854. I was given these documents. I do not know how they fit in with Bridget. The age of this( or these) John Tierney could not possibly be Bridget's father, but was it her brother. I was told that Bridget came to America with her father at the age of 7 years old. When she went to KY widowed? with Mary Jordan her child, I was told she went to live with her sister (no name). Probably met James Conners and married in KY and had first 4 of her chldren with James in KY.

I also have Mary Jordan's marriage lines to a John Hogan on January 2, 1871, Muhleburg Co, KY.

Do any of these names ring a bell?

Bridget was my gg grandmother and Johanna Conners was my g grandmother.

Mr. Crutcher:
I am attempting to research my great great grandmother Bridget Tierney. I believe she was from Ireland, married a William Galloway and gave birth to a daughter, Margaret Galloway, in West VA in 1871. The family later moved to Muhlenberg County KY. Margaret married a Joseph E. Patton (also born in WVA) in Central City.

I saw your post about Mary Jordan Hogan, Bridget Tierney's daughter, and noticed that she was married at a William Galloway's house and that he was a surety on her marriage bond, so I think perhaps we're looking at the same Bridget Tierney?

If you have any information that would connect your Bridget Tierney to William or Margaret Galloway, I would be very happy to know it.

Thanks -

Rebecca Patton
