Researching for my ancestors I've disccovered that there are many "DONATE" families in Louisiana. I've have also read about "CASAÑAS" also. My ancestors came from Granadilla de Abona, Tenerife. I'm a Donate descendant (my grandmother's first surname is Donate) and we are from Gran Canaria (Canary Islands), although I know her family came from Tenerife.
