I am also descended from the Johannes Albrecht(my G-G-G-G-G-G grandfather)who came to PA in 1732 through his son Jacob. So that makes us very distant cousins. Jacob's grandson Elias Albright (my G-G-G grandfather)moved his family to MO in the 1840's and stayed there for several generations (My grandmother was born in Richmond, MO) I have been to Elias' grave in MO but have never made it to NC or PA to investigate family history there.

I actually went to the Stonier's Cemetary today and saw Jaco'b new tombstone. Some group associated with the Revolutionary war put it up maybe the DAR. The cemetary itseldf is in bad shape. It needs mowing and tombstones put back up. It is beautiful though it sits on a hill and Jacobs grave is under what I think is a walnut tree. I also visited with some our other distant relatives. I went to the house that my great grandfather lived in It was first built by Jacob's Grand daughter and Ludwig's Grand son. They were married and were my ggg-grandparents. It is really nice. We are very lucky to have such a rich family history. You should try to get to North Carolina sometime everything you would want to do is withing 10 -15 miles from each other.

I was actually wondering if any of Johannes' children fought in the Revolutionary War. I kept thinking Jacob would be too old but I guess he would have been around 50 and there were probably men of that age who fought. His son Daniel, who I am descended from, would have been in his 20's at the time. The book that I have doesn't say specifically if they have any military history. That's great that you still live so close to where a lot of your ancestors are from. I am in Michigan and all of my ancestors on my Mom's side were all from the South. This is really neat to be able to correspond with someone who shares ancestors with you!

Hi. I am trying to find the relatives of my
Grandfather. I cannot get past him in my search
for my ancestors. He was born in what appears to
be 'Greens trp' whatever or wherever that may
be(from a family book). I know that he had
some half brothers and sisters and that he left
home when he was twelve and was on his own
since then. He would never talk about his
family and I never pressed him for info; now
it is too late. He was born on March 13,1898.
Name is Melvin Jackson Albright. Anyone having
any info would be appreciated.
Thanx, Cheri A-O

I'm searching for information on Susannah Albright b.abt. 1780 in Rowan Co., NC. Her great-grandfather would be Jacob Albrecht b. 1695 in Germany. This Jacob is the uncle of the Jacob and Ludwig you're speaking of (Johannes Ludwig Albrecht and my Jacob were brothers). If anyone can help me with any information, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Teresa Ross-Hild

Thanks so much for the information! I am descended from Johannes through his son Jacob Albright who moved to North Carolina from Pennsylvania in the 1750's. So I'm glad to have that information. I actually recall my grandmother saying once that we had a relative in the American Revolution who was a drummer - but we never knew which ancestor it was. I have that Jacob was born in 1727 so he would have been close to 50 by the time of the American Revolution. Thanks again.

We have a Jacob Albright, father of Daniel Albright born 1757, Berks County, PA. Jacob's father was Johannes Ludwig. Daniel married Catherin Loay in Alamance County, NC and their son Daniel born 1802 was the father of Mary Elizabeth Albright who is our great-grandmother on the McIntyre side. Is this the same Jacob and Johanne by any chance?
