I have Kurt's father as Rudolph Marx

Mother-Frieda Marx,born April 1,1887 in Nurenburg, Germany
I have no maiden name or parents.
Listed as Rudolph's father is Friedrich Marx

My gggfather was Johan Peter Marx b1824 came to Australia and New Zealand departing Saxony in 1853 lived in Nassau near Frankfurt. Was married to Katherine (Velt or Muller/Miller or Cartwright)who was born 1812. They arrived in Tasmania 28 June 1855 on the sailing ship Montmorency accompanied by Peter Marx 16, John Phillip Marx 10, Jacob 3, Christina 1. Due to their ages I believe Peter and John jr. may have been children of Katherine by a previous relationship as they have disappeared from all family records. Anybody got any connections.

Hello, Nancy,

Just found your posting. I am interested in your MARX connection in Worms am Rhein. Your post is dated 2000. Have you learned any more about your MARX family?

My father, Frank (Franz) MARX was born 1901 in Worms. His father was Johann and mother Katerina BROSS. There were three other children: Anna, Katerina, and Hans. My father was the only one in his family to emigrate to the U. S., about 1927. Unfortunately, I was bitten by the genealogy bug after all has passed away, so I have few clues to other family members. I don't even know if my grandfather had any brothers and sisters. I have been concentrating on my maternal side which goes back to colonial times and keeps me quite busy. But I need to start on my father's side and occasionally probe for information on this side.

One other clue I have is that my grandmother had a brother Adolph. Before the war he apparently lived in Worms, but by 1956 when my father took me to Germany to meet his family, he was living in Moers, in the Ruhr region, I believe.

Looking forward to your reply, even if you have nothing more. Yours is the first MARX/Worms connection I have seen.

Thank you.
Jon (Johann Wilhelm) Marx

I am working on the exact family as you, through your husband's grandfather Rudolph's half-brother Adolph Marx from Mannheim.
