Im looking for information on Jaczko Antal born October 30 1863 in Sztankocz Zemplen. His parents were Jaczko Janos and Matyi Erzsabet, both parents were Greek Catholic and according to the 1869 Zemplen census both were born in Malcza Zemplen. Is anybody else researching this family ?

The old 1910 Hungarian megye map is at :

Some of Zemplen megye is in Slovak Republic as Zemplin region.
The town of Malcza is now Malcice, Slovak Republic. Do check LDS-Mormons website as they have filmed the church records of SK.
The village of Sztankocz is now Stankovce, Slovak Republic.
Do post on that republic's board, if you have not.

Zlatica,
Thank you for your response to my post. Thanks for the information and links, I am aware the villages are in present day Slovakia and have in fact visited that area last year. I spent a day in the East Slovakian Archives in Kosice, very interesting ! I currnetly have the microfilm and I am looking for a birth for Matyi Erzsabet around 1845, hopefully I will find something !

I realize this is quite an old post...hopefully will reach you. Do you know if the spelling of your JACZKO may have evolved into JONEK at all? I am grasping at straws but have been able to find nothing on this family....thank you
