My great-grandfather was Hugh Gilmore and he came from Sligo with his three brothers but he came over around 1845. From the information I have is that him and one of his brothers settled in north eastern PA and the other two brothers went to CA. Please let me know if this is any help.

My records say William Oliver was born March 27, 1896 in Sligo County, Ireland. He came to the US as a young man with his older half brother???? They settled in Michigan before he made his way to Oregon.

I'm looking for anyone researching Hugh GILMORE, born in Ireland c. 1825. He came to America and is listed in the 1880 Census in Philadelphia. He is married to Ann and has three children: John James and Kate, all born in PA.

The family is living in the 21st Ward of Philadelphia, in or near Manayunk or Roxborough.

Please contact me if you have anything on this family.

I received your message but I don't think that we connect. My great-grandfather was also Hugh Gilmore but according to my research he came over from Sligo, Ireland in the 1860s and settled in the Scranton area.

I wonder if you will help me. I could use any information on your great grandfather Hugh Gilmore in Pennsylvania. I am tracing my family and there are several Hugh Gilmores in PA. A lot of wives and children are mixed up. Any dates, children, wives etc. could be of help in straightening it out. My revised tree will be put online soon and many could benefit. My email: CatherineGilmor@cs.com.
