I keep a lot of nores on individuals and althougn I back up my files daily quite often I find all of the notes on individuals I haven't worked on in awhile have been erased

I have 9 separate PAF files and it happens on all of them.

Is their a limit to the total amounmt of notes PAF 5.2 can store ??

Are the notes moved to some kind of a log or somewhere else? Hope hope........

Because of this I am going to chnage to RootsMagic v3 but if my notes are "hidden" I need to retrieve them before I export my PAF files to the new program..........

What have I been doing wrong?

I've never had this problem, but here are some thoughts:

-- Possibly 'duplicate' entries in your files which do not have the notes (but do have the basic information)

-- You may have merged some records (I think there is an option box that you can select whether notes are copied or not)

Yes, I also seem to recall that when merging people, there was some setting or question or something, asking if you wanted to merge the Notes or not. I have not had a problem myself with notes disappearing, since I almost never have to merge people.
