Surnames: Boyer,
It seems that the majority of the Boyer family up and migrated from Grayson County ending up in various places in Nebraska. This all occurred during the 1890s. Does anyone out there have any idea why so many people migrated from there to Nebraska at that particular time? It seems pretty odd to me, and there may be some explanation that I haven't gotten yet. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
thanx

The Homestead Act was giving free land to people to populate the Midwest. Lots of Confederate soldiers headed west after the Civil War.
