My great grandfather James Hughes had a brother called Henry Edward who married Cecilia Caffery.
Cecilia was born in 1878 in Berwick, Lancashire. Cecilia and Henry settled in Gorton, Manchester and had a daughter Mary Frances born 1901.
According to the 1881 Census, there is a Cecilia Caffery, born about 1878 in Bradford, Lancashire.
Also in the family are Edward Caffery, b 1850 Manchester,
wife Frances, b 1851 Manchester, and son Edward, b 1880, Ashton Under Lyne.
If anyone has any info on these Cafferys, I would love to hear from you.

Cecilia Caffery-Hughes was my grandmother. Her husband was Henry Hughes, and my father was Charles. The child you mention, Mary Frances died very young. They had five boys and one daughter.
Henry, May, Joseph, Charles ( my dad), Frank, Wilfred and George.
George is still living in England, in his 90s.

Nice to hear from you. I have been v busy as well, with an election in our State, Victoria.
I'll send you a photo of my Grandmother, the Caffery you mention. I have a photo of my Grandfather, but it was taken much later.
I see my cousin Helen replied to you a few years ago. She visited us here in Australia a couple of years ago.

Found a couple of minutes in my busy schedule to get back to you. Between work and activities on the weekends....I have had no time to myself and pursuing my love of genealogy....

I have a 10 day break between Christmas and New Year's...so looking forward to it.
