Have you gotten any responses about Kannenbergs from Prosen? I have my ggrandparents August Edwin Kannenberg and Wilhelmine Caroline Bottcher both being born in Posen and my grandfather was born in Allentown, PA. Now I have my gggrandfather David Kannenberg being born in Hammermaule, Bromberg, Germany and gggrandmother born in Schmukalle, Bromberg, Posen, Germany. Now I haven't done too much with research in Germany so I'm not sure of what the four places in my gggrandmother's birthplace means. I did at one time contact a cousin, but the address wasn't right for her and it got sent back. This was just after the Berlin wall coming down.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have anything different.

Hey, Pat! I agree a lot has happened since we talked last. On 16 Oct 2006 we had an attic fire, we didn't lose much, but have been having to redo some records that got soaked when the brillant fire department soaked my living room. :-)
Glad to hear you remarried. I will need to add your new last name to my info.
It has been awhile since I talked to Jim. The last time I wrote he said life was going too fast for him to get back into genealogy. :-)
Let me know what's going on!!

Great to hear from you . If you need any of my info let me know. Do you have Jims email or address ? My email came back undeliverable. ALso have you connected the kannenbergs back to anyone in PA or WI. I can't find any thing beyond G G August Kannenberg. I have no idea of brothers, sisters, parents etc. I think I may have found a immigration entrance for him but don't know for sure. Let me know.
Now that Andy is going to retire we will be leaving IL and living in WI(Door COUNTY) We just bought a house there and will be fixing it up over the next year. Hope to be traveling and maybe we can meet.
I am also going thru some old photos and maybe I have pictyres of you . Will let you know. Have a great weekend and write soon.
I am interested in getting short summarys of family lives so if interested let me know. I want to update your info also . I know I have had additions to the family in the past few years. Pat
My new name is spelled Platacis

Pat,

Yes, I have several additions to the family. Do we exchange info here or should we do it privately. I haven't gotten an email from Jim in over two years. The last time he emailed me he said he had to put it aside because life was too busy at that time.
On GG August Edwin Kannenberg, I have his parents and other family members. I had contacted a cousin, at the time in Yugoslavia, and she said she knew that there were several brothers, but wasn't sure of how many. She also knew of two brothers that went to the USA. One was Edward and the other was August. I tried to send a response back but it got returned. I wish I could find her again. She also told me that she had a sister who came to the USA and lived in Texas. She had married and gave me her name, but she also said she had died. :-( I found that August Edwin came to the US in 1890 and settled in PA. Now this is where I lost some of the info with the attic fire. All water damage. I'm glad that I got most of the pics saved to the computer which didn't get wet. :-) The only contact I had made to WI was Jim, so far.
Oh, yes, I would love to see you when you start traveling. Chuck and I haven't gotten back up to Chicago area in over 20 years.
Write soon.

I am just starting research on my ancestry, but am connecting with some of the names you gave in this forum. My last name is Kannenberg and currently live in Minnesota. I have records back to Louis William Kannenberg 1884-1948. Do either of you have this connection? My email is sarahjkannenberg@gmail.com
