Ihave been looking for parents of Dr. Seward Sumner B.1807 Ky. r. perry Ind. d. Iowa
Married: Ind.

(her mother Was Elizabeth Betsy Lanman )
they, Seward and Elizabeth had several children (8 or 9).
They would be my ggg-grandparents,
and may have moved to Iowa in later years,
as the union moved families westward in th civil wars.My grand father was Grason (grayson?)Sumner born Iowa 1861 in Unionville,at the out break of the civil war.
He married Sarah Ella VanDover B. Ind.,or

grason was the son of Luther G. sumner
b. 1830 Spencer, ind. r. Iowa d. 1863? Iowa.
he married 1. hulda Vanderver (according to LDS records)
there were four children:
Grason,John ,Isabelle,Franklin Seward.
2.Winifred mastison
one Son :Luther C.

With all due respect. Your information about Julia Reynolds is probably not correct. Julia's parents were Gordon and Rachel Reynolds. Grayson and Julia moved from Indiana to Monona County, Iowa after the Civil War along with Julia's parents, a couple of Julia's brother James A Reynolds and Oliver B Reynolds. I am a descendant of James A Reynolds.

See History of Monona (pg 264-265) The Reynolds are not related to RJ Reynolds Family of Virginia. They are from Monmouth, New Jersey.

Seward Sumner did not seem to have a son, Jesse but did have a brother, Jesse born about 1805 who could have had a son Jess born about 1825. Suard/Seward and Jesse are mentioned in the will of Thomas Sumner in Spencer County, Indiana
