I too am interested in this book, looking for info on the Peace River Area 1918-1940. Do you know the author and
publisher? Chapter 13 about the northwest mounted police is available on the internet. Maybe other chapters if we knew what they were about.

I now have a copy of this book. It was published by the Grande Prairie and District Old Timers Association in 1975, edited by Isabel M. Campbell, artwork by Robert C. Guest.
Let me know if you would like particular information and I will look it up for you.
Cheers, Pat

The Archives in Grande prairie is a great resource for the history of the area. Their website is great for searching from a distance.

Hi Pat,

My Grandfather was George Stewart who homesteaded in this area of Alberta in the 1920's. I've tried to find him in the Alberta Homestead records, but haven't been able to pin him down. I know there are 2 mentioned in the book but I don't think the George 'Archibald' was him. If there is anything of interest you can share, I would love to hear it. Thanks, Jack
