Interested in the history, photos, and employees of Rutledge Timber Company, Fernwood (Benewah) Idaho. Anybody know of these documents or where I might search. Time period is 1910 to 1920. Looking for my ancestor who worked there (based upon WWI draft card). Thanks!! Gary V.

A.L. Vecellio, born 4 June 1888 in Aweonzo, Italy. Living in Fernwood, ID, laborer at Rutledge Timber Co inFernwood.

You will find about 159 different articles and references to it. It was involved in a US Supreme Court case in 1917. It was the Edward Rutledge Timber Company.

I was hopeful that somebody might know of a published history of that company, or eventually some rolls of employees. You've identified the guy I'm looking for.

Surnames: Simpson / Pier
I am also looking for info on my grandfather who worked for Rurledge Timber company and it was listed as his employment on his draft registration. H would have been there in 1917-1921 and maybe prior to 1917. His name was Samuel Daniel Simpson born 24 July 1878 and they were married in Emida Benwah Co and lived in the Clarkia area- Any info would be greatly appreciated.
