Surnames: WOODLEY, DAVENPORT
Has anyone come across a young woman named Frances Ordie (?Ardie ?Ordis) WOODLEY? She was the ward of my GGgrandfather Joshua B. DAVENPORT of Creswell, Washington County, from the mid-1880s until his death in 1892. JBD kept very careful accounts of all her expenses including tuition (apparently private tutoring). I believe she was his niece, the daughter of his brother-in-law Daniel WOODLEY (?d. 1881). If there are any descendants out there, I have many papers relating to her.

Hi!

Ms. Orde, as she was known but really Frances Orde Woodley
was the orphaned daughter of Daniel Woodley and Sarah Frances Gallop. She was my grandmother. I have lots of questions and information if you are willing. She died in 1952 and is buried in the Blount cemetery just outside Roper , NC. She married Wm Alfred Blount and had four children.
The last surviving child is my father at age 88 years.

This is so exciting, hope to hear from you soon

It is very unlikely. This branch of the Woodleys were originally Woodlands and have been in NC for about 200 years.
