Catherine McKee was the second spouse of George Ermatinger Sr. who was born abt 1766 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. First he married Mary MacDonell, who was born May 1779 in Krodart, Invernesshire, Scotland, and died August 5, 1873 in Alexander, Ontario, Canada. That marriage produced one child, George Ermatinger Jr. Born May 3, 1795. George Sr. then married Catherine McKee who was born between 1761 and 1786, and died between 1808 and 1874. That marriage, unknown date, produced the following children: Thomas Ermatinger, unknown dates; James (Jim) Ermatinger; Lawrence Ermatinger, Unknown dates--he died in Detroit, Michigan. He was the Captain of the Steamboat "Detroit." He served all through the war as a Captain of a Michigan Regiment and went to the front lines, after the war he came back to Detroit and died four weeks later. I do not know what war this was. Presume it was the Civil War. Annie Ermatinger, unknown dates; Alice Ermatinger, unknown dates. "Jim Falls" in Wisconsin is named for James Ermatinger. He married an Ojibwe woman named Charlotte Cadotte. They had 7 children: Alice Ermatinger; Frederick Ermatinger; Charles Ermatinger, who was killed in the Civil war at Cole Harbor; Alex Ermatinger; Isaac Ermatinger who was killed at Wilson Creek in the Civil War; William Ermatinger, who fought and survived the Civil War; and Elijah Ermatinger, who fought and survived in the Civil war.

New to Ancestry and found your post. I am a decendant of George Ermatinger Jr. I do not believed that George Ermatinger Sr was ever married to Mary MacDonell as we have never located a marriage certificate. I do have a census record for George Jr. and his family and it shows that Mary MacDonell was living with him and identified as Mary MacDonell. I never have found an acknowledgement by George Sr of George Jr but it appears that George Jr had contact with George Sr's children by McKee.
