John Linn TWEED was born 18 Mar 1821. His parents were Alexander TWEED and Eliza ROBINSON. Does anyone have any information about John Linn TWEED's brothers and sister?

Al, thanks for the reply. I have the BROWN side traced very well, but it's the TWEED family I haven't been able to find. The only item I have on Matilda Jean is her name and the date of marriage. I'm trying to get names of other TWEEDs in the proximate time frame and geographical area to see if a match is possible. So far I have a Robert TWEED, b. 1703, place unknown. I have an ancestor Mathew Tweed b.abt 1754. He married Anna Brown who was from Islandmagee. I know of only two children. My great great grandfather Alexander Tweed and a sister Sarah Tweed who married a william Holmes and migrated to the USA, possibly in the Des Moines IA area.

That is about all I know about Anna Brown.

I have a Matilda Jean Tweed, m. a William BROWN from County Antrim, Ulster Province, Ireland abt. 1760. I have no further info on the Tweed side of this union - my maternal line is Brown. Would love to know more about the Tweed family but have yet to encounter info from this time period in Ireland.

no sure....but Matilda is a Curtoys name, and Robert Tweed had a grand daughter who married in Wiltshire to a Curtoys. Robert had a brother John and Spurgin, and then Robert had a son Thomas Littell Tweed, who married Sarah Ruffle of Bocking Hall, Essex.

does this help? No dates but have received a copy of an old family tree yesterday so I am looking for connections. Thomas Tweed Curtoys / Curteis, Robert's x2 grandson went to New Zealand, and was a store keeper

Hi! there. I have a Matthew bn 1829 & Andrew bn 1832 Tweed from Antrim who came out to NZ in abt 1860. Their parents are Matthew Tweed & Isabella Esler.

The early Tweeds were mostly in Ballypriormore and buried in the graveyard there. Currently Tweeds are found in both Islandmagee and Larne
