Hi,

I am very interested by all those families, Shompany, Champaney, Champney from NH and VT. I think many of them are franco-americans.

Please, if you are from one of these lines write me back.

Hi Claude,

I recently discovered that a second cousin of mine, Veronica Bolan, married a Henry Nelson Shompany in or about 1926 and they lived in Mount Kisco, New York for many years and raised one son, Alfred Joseph Shompany. Henry was a native of Holland, Orleans, VT. He was born in 1901 and relocated to Westchester County, NY sometime around 1920. I also noticed on ancestry.com that there were other Shompanys from Vermont living in the Westchester area during the early twentieth century.

According to the 1925 New York state census, Henry was the next door neighbor of Joseph Bolan, Veronica's brother. Both Joseph and Veronica Bolan were natives of Waterbury, CT. I'm sure that Vera's mom, Georgiana LaPointe Bolan, was happy about her marrying a Vermonter with a French-Canadian lineage.

I just thought I would share this with you.
