Hi,
We are not actually part of your family, but have a connection I think might be important. My husband's family is the Dawejko's of Philadelphia/ PA in general. Adolf Dawejko married a lady named Pauline Moroz who had 2 children, Joseph and Victoria Niedzwiecki. Adolf and Pauline went on to have 5 more children. I found Pauline's grave, and John Niedzwiecki is written underneath her name, not Adolf. Pauline would have come over from Poland around 1914 and she and Adolf lived in Kulpmont, PA. Adolf was a coal miner. I saw on one of these posts that one of the sons died in PA of a coal mining accident. Do any of you have any more information about John? They probably would have married shortly after Pauline came to America.

Hey, I was a little confused with your post. I am from the Philadelphia area as well. My father always talked about how his grandfather was a coal miner. My father's grandfather was named Adolf Dawejko. My father's father was named William Henry Dawejko (Maybe he was one of the 5 other children that you mentioned?). Why were Adolf and Pauline's children named "Niedzwiecki"?

Thanks for your reply...no, William Henry isn't one of the children I see listed of Adolf and Pauline. I did find out that Adolf remarried a woman named Louella...maybe William is her son with Adolf?

Adolf and Pauline's children where not Niedzwiecki...Pauline remarried after Adolf, and his name was John Niedzwiecki. You probably wouldn't know anything about them, since it sounds like your great grandmother was Louella. They had some kids together in that marriage, so half siblings to our ancestor Edmund D.

This is my husband's family tree in a nutshell: Edmund M. Dawejko Jr (my husband)
His father is Edmund M. Dawejko Sr. from Philadelphia
Sr's parents were Edmund D. Dawejko and Rosanna Raby,
and of course Edmund D. Dawejko's parents were Adolf and Pauline.

Thanks for any help you could provide in helping me solve this puzzle...so maybe you could fill me in with Louella? my husband's family knows very little about their ancestors!
