My father, Richard J. Rademacher, recently passed away in January. While my sisters and I were down in Florida with him for his final days, his wife showed us some papers and articles of the Jamaica Bay drowning incident. My fathers brother, Robert Rademacher came accross the old newspaper articles of the drowning while researching our family tree. I don't know the exact details of how he came upon the information, but he said he found the info through different venues of researching our family. He had confirmed that we are indeed related to the wine merchant and his wife, but I'm not exactly sure how. Anyway...I just happen to come accross your message through a Google search of my fathers name. I just thought it would be interesting to respond to it, see where it goes.
Respectfully,
Amy Rademacher Ciserano

I remember Julia! She was my dad's aunt. She was married to Ray...I remember they would visit my family at every holiday.
So your father was Richard E? And his parents were?
Also, what is your name?
Thanks I will share with my Dad who I spoke with earlier. He will be thrilled as he has done quite a bit with our family tree.

I met with Bob & Berniece. They came to my house upstate NY ,,, they had data on Julia and her death in a auto crash
I knew their must be more family but am missing links to reach you… Care to assist me with more data ?
My father was Richard Edwin son of Ida Mea & Stephen John Hanlon Jr. (he was a deadbeat father) and Ida married a second time Springsteed (He adopted my father) So I am Rikki & I have a brother in CA Richard E Springsteed. Springsteed died when my father was young (14 years)

Oh OK! Yes, I heard about your visit with my parents Bob & Bernice! They really enjoyed meeting you!
I have been doing a bit more digging and this is what I learned so far.
I did locate Ida Gade's parents, Fredrick W. Gade (1824-1905) and Melvine Gade (1827-1891)
and Richard Rademacher (1851-1913), his parents, Richard Rademacher and Frina Finken.
I seem to be hitting a brick wall with Richard &Frina. My father gave me the siblings of Richard as John Rademacher, Meta Schroeder, Anna Spinken and Adelheid Flathmann. I am finding some of these people all born in the 1850's and 60's, but they are showing parents names of Catharina Finken & Diedrich Rademacher (which doesn't make any sense to me). I did find it interesting that Catharina Finken is similar to "Frina Finken", but Dietrich is very different from Richard. So, I am kind of stuck here. I will keep you posted when I learn more. Best, Terry
