I follow Bartholomew (1812-1891) who married Catherine
Hoffman (1814-1885?); one of their many children was Mathius (Matthew) Thome (1835-1887) [your birth date for Mathius is different but mine is undocumented] who married Margaretha Wirch (Wuerch) (1842-1916); one of their many children was Nicholas Thome (my grandfather) (1886-1921) married to Antonette Rose Cerny (1884-1962); Nicholas Antonette had 4 children -
Margaret, Joseph, Mildred John - John is John James Thome (my dad) (1909- ). He had 4 children - Janice, Frank, Edward me = James John Thome, Sr.

I have been researching the THome family from Sitzerath, Prussia, near Trier for ever three years. The names Mathias, Nicholas appear. Where are your Thome's from. I have them traced back to thome born about 1725. If this sounds familiar, let me know

Jim do you know a Walt Thome that lives in Texas? He has been trying to find info on a Nicholas thome for a long time. He knows that he lived in the Tiffin, Ohio area at one time but can't tie him in with any other family. I went to the Henry County Vital Statistics and got a copy of Mathias Thome death certificate and Elizabeth's. His death certificate says he was born in Germany August 20, 1842 and died in New Baveria August 15, 1930 and his parents were Bartholemus Thome and Catherine Hoffman and they were both born in Germany. He is buried in New Baveria. His wife was Elizabeth Schwably and she died September 18, 1922 and is buried in New Baveria, Ohio. Can you send me proof of marriage or death of your Margaretha Wirch? I am still trying to put them in our family but no luck so far. Where were they married and where did they live and die? I'm going back to get marriage copies for our family next.

I am no where near the complexity by which everyone else is - I got handwritten notes for my father's aunt, cousins, etc. I have no documentation - just a set of handwritten notes that I am trying to collaborate on...
