Trying to trave my g g grandfather, John William Brown b. 12/24/ 1821 in Warren County NY. Death records state his father was born in Virginia; mother NY. The names william, elmer and idella are used for his children and grandchildren.

Do birth records exist for this period?

Birth records for NYS start in 1880.You need church records or bible records prior to that.
