Mrs. George Clifton Bates
Miss Joyce Elaine Zimmerman, daughter of Mrs. Stanford B. Hodgman of Tacoma, was married recently to Chief Petty Officer George Clifton Bates, United States Naval Reserves, at a ceremony at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kitching.
For her marriage the bride chose a gown of gardenia white satin, made on princess lines and fingertip veil caught to a halo of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of orchids, white carnations and freesias. She was given in marriage by her stepfather, Mr. Hodgman.
Mrs. J.T. Sagora, wearing blue satin and carrying pink carnations was her sister’s matron of honor. Miss Eleanor Klasner, in pink net and carrying roses and freesias was bridesmaid. Mr. J.D. Bates of Richmond, California, was his brother’s best man. The Rev. L.G. Randal officiated.
Reception assistants were the Mesdames Anna McLean, Arletta Bargar, Walter Kitching, Allan Haney, Arnold C. Rouse and Miss Lucille Maurer.
The couple is at home in Astoria, Oregon.

Joyce E. Hansen. Born July 23, 1921 in Seattle, Washington; died October 11, 2003. Survived by her husband of 42 years, Rolf B. Hansen; one son, Steven E. Bates; three step-daughters, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorial Service will be Wednesday, October 22nd, at 2PM at Hoffner Fisher & Harvey Chapel Remembrances may be made to your favorite charity.

Rolf Bruhn Hansen
Born Enumclaw, Washington June 15, 1921. Passed away November 12, 2008 at home in Burien in the tender company of his beloved "Esther". World War II Alaska Coast Guard veteran. Ballard and Fremont businessman 60 plus years in the welding supply industry. Founder of Hansen and Miller. Greenwood Masonic Lodge. Indio, California snowbird.
