Kerstin found the widowed mother and two kids living in Ankarsrum säteri in Hallingeberg parish. Ankarsrum säteri is not a town or a city. According to the cd "Svenska Ortnamn 1999" (Swedish Place Names), Ankarsrum säteri is a herrgård (estate).

Note the spelling of Ankarsrum is NOT Arkarsum.

Emibas CD:

Now the location is Ankarsrum bruk (factory).

I found the family in the household examination for 1876-1880. The father/husband has some sort of note about him. Swedes can help with that.

The parents were married in 1856.

Hulda was born 23 June 1862, so the person found on the Emibas CD is yours.

Maria was born 8 May 1865, so the person found on the Emibas CD is yours.

Hulda Mathilda was born 12 August 1859, so the person found on the Emibas CD is yours.

The family on this page consisted of the parents and daughters listed above, plus your Carl Arvid.

There was a note on the above page that they came from page 526 in 1879.

I went to that page.

Here Sofia Svennberg is listed as deceased Mästm. (his title) Persson's widow. Did he emigrate or not? Check for a death record. There might have been an error by the transcriber on Emibas.

The children listed with her were Hulda, Maria, and Carl Arvid.

Work backwards in the household examination records and also check birth records. You can find the missing daughter but it takes more time than I have.

GID 48.33.18000, [Kalmar] Hallingeberg, AI.18, Household examination, 1876-1880, page 98, Image 102, at Ankarsrums Bruk.

The father is called "Afvikne masmästare" (absconded master blast furnace operator) so he has left, probably without giving proper notice.

---

GID 48.33.58600, [Kalmar] Hallingeberg, AI.18, Household examination, 1876-1880, page 526, Image 508.

This is the "på socknen" page (for persons without fixed address).

Maria Svennberg is not recorded as widow, but as wife of the "afvikne" (absconded) "masm." Persson.

The same in the previous HFL, GID 48.32.7200, [Kalmar] Hallingeberg, AI.17, Household examination, 1871-1875, page 494, Image 72.

In the previous HFL the family is recorded "på socknen", Erik Johan Persson with remark that he "afvikit från orten" (absconded from the place). GID 48.30.31300, [Kalmar] Hallingeberg, AI.16, Household examination, 1866-1870, page 380, Image 313.

They came 1870 from page 355 (GID 48.30.28900) at Ankarsrums Bruk. Here they are recorded as moving 1868 to page 380, There is nothing recorded about Eric Johan Persson being absent.
