looking for information on this couple who i believe ended up in Caroll County Georgia or nearby. Interested particularly in verifying the children of this union, particularly ASA and John S. who are thought to be brothers born between 1801 and 1803. Other possible siblings include Joseph (died as infant?), Anna (1797-1881), Rhesa (1797), Catherine (1803), George William (1803), Jane (1805), Mathew Gaston (1806) and Margaret I. "Annie" Reid. The dates are in question obviously with 3 born in 1803 etc. I have come across information (thanks to Virginia Haynes) that suggests J.S. Reid & Martha are Uncle and Aunt to Jane Reid married to James Arnold (Martha's brother?) and daughter of Asa Reid son of George married to Mary Jane Gaston. This suggests that J.S. (John S.) is Asa's Brother therefore Georges Son. But there isn't much to support the supposition at this time. Anyone with information regarding the offspring of George and Jane please help us clarify this point. Thanks for your help, Joel . . . . this connection will connect us to a long and illustrious lineage.

Thanks,Missy, for your response. I don't have anything about my George's parents so I can't go back any farther. I just know the year he was born and the state(from the 1850) census. I was hoping your George 111 might be the right age to be his father.
Thanks again.

I have a number of george reids in my tree, none seems to match the one you're looking for exactly, but there are a couple that are close.

It's likely that your george is an undocumented grandson of george and mary jane, here is a link to him, let me know if you find some intersects with reids you have that are not in my tree.
