Surnames: Amberman, Lamb
Hi
James Edward Amberman born 29th April 1902, was my Mothers older brother. He went to America in about 1905 with his Aunt and Uncle for a holiday, but never returned to Australia.
We know they went to Maine and we know that in adult life James worked for the Hienz Food Company.
His original surname was Lamb, but Amberman was the name of the Aunt and Uncle.
I would love to know if he has any descendents.
Thanks
Pam

Hi Lois!
You are a gem. So much information.
This is probably a big ask, but would it be possible to find out if he married and if he had descendents.
Thanks a million.
Cheers
Pam

Hi Pam,
I just started looking for information on James Edward Lamb and saw your post from 2007. Are you still looking for information on him? James Edward (Ted) was married and he and his wife Bessie never had any children.
"Cousin Ted" was related to my husband's grandmother, Blanche Augusta Lamb who was apparently a half sister to Ted's father.
John C. Amberman (Captain Jack)was married to Elizabeth Lamb according to the information that I have. I haven't had time to search for more information yet.
Ted was born in Australia in 1902 and apparently on the ship with Captain Jack and his wife Bessie (Elizabeth) as early as 1907. Captain Jack didn't have any children of his own.
Ted became a naturalized citizen in 1945 or 46. He lived in Jamacia Plains, MA and we visited him in the 1970's. He was a very nice man and loved children.
This is all I have right now. I just started looking.

dear Judy
Thank you so much. I am delighted that you met Ted. I have discovered that he changed his name in September 1945 after the death of my grandfather.
The others you mentioned were all related to my Grandfather.
It is all so interesting.
Regards
Pam
