Christopher Matthews b 1824 England m Harriet Rogers.
sons William Jospeh Matthews (1851-1941) & a son Richard of Ocean Grove, NJ.
Christopher's naturalization of 1854 shows witness Matthias Matthews.
There is an obit of Matthias Matthews (1803 Eng.-? New Castle) in a family bible. Says sons Joseph, John, James, Charles of New Castle. Mrs. David Saunders of Cleveland, Mrs. Mary Garbert of New Castle & Mrs. William Mann, deceased.
What is the connection between Christopher & Matthias?
I am thinking nephew.
Christopher's son William's obit from Lebanon, Pa. says he left New Castle at a young age, but his parents remained.
I cannot find them in Pa. censuses, death records,, etc.
Any help would be appreciated.
