I have recently recieved from the Vital Records Registry, a death certificate of my great grandfather Henry Hilarion Verdon. According to this certificate Henry's mother was HENRIETTA ENCAR - (born in Pointe-a-la-Hache,Louisiana).
If this name sounds familiar to anyone please contact me.

Encar or Ancar?

Is it possible that Encar is Ancar. There is a very large Ancar family (about 40 families) on the West Bank centered at West Pointe-a-la-Hache, Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana.

If not, there is also a Gilbert and Leonard Encar living near Port Sulphur. They can be reached at 504-564-3630.

Looking for any info on Ancar or Ancarde from Buras or City Price, LA. Eustache Ancar or Birnedette Barthelemy (sp?). Also, any info on the surname itself.

As far as I know Barthélémy is Belgium. I have a gggrandmother, Eliza Barthélémy who married Valentin Encalade abt. 1843 they lived in Plaquemines Parish--I believe she had a sister named Aspacie . Is any of this familiar to you? Wish I had more info to share.

I can give you some info on the Ancar's & Barthelemy's from Port Sulphur,Diamond, Grand Bayou area. I can be contacted at ddancar@yahoo.com. I do know that there was a rice farmer named, Maranville Ancard, who was father to Joseph Paryn Ancard who married to Lizzie Treadway (daughter of Eli & Brigette(Ancar) Treadway. Their children was: Jean Baptiste De Collette Ancar, Paul & Catherine Ancar (twins), Joseph Ancar, Jules Randall Ancar, & "DJ" Ancar. I am the daughter of Bennie Joseph Ancar, the only son of Jean Baptiste. I am just getting started on genealogy so... I am SLOWLY acquiring more info all the time.

Is this Valentine Encalade the same one married to Eliza Baptiste (Barthelemy) and son of Jacque Encalade and Barbe St. Anne? If so maybe we can share info.
