looking for information about George Finch and Martha Hereford from Linwood, Utah. They were married in Salt Lake on Jan. 13, 1881 and ranched in the Linwood area. Both were of Shoshone descent. She was a granddaughter of Uncle Jack Robertson of the Ft. Bridger area. George was the adopted son of Lige Driscoll. One of their daughters, Betty, married John Stoll of Burnt Fork.

I replied to a similar post on another bb. Hope this is not a duplicate.

I'm doing some research on my great uncle Tom Widdop who has written about Lige and George in his journal. I would be happy to send you an electronic copy of what he says about George and Lige, both of howm he admired. Uncle Tom worked for Lige and with George.

Let me know if you are interested.

I would love to have anything you have relating to Lige Driscoll. He was my great great grandfather's step dad, so he is not blood, but seemed like a very interesting character. Thank you so much!!

Are you aware of a book called Flaming Gorge Country by Dick and Vivian Dunham, that there are descendent of George Finch still living in the area of Daggett County. There is a picture of George Finch displayed in the Daggett County Courthouse.

Here is some information for anyone looking for information on this family,. Go to the USGenWeb Archives and go to the State of Wyoming, go to the main page of the Wyoming Gen Web, click on the county of Sweetwater. Under the cemetary list you will find the Burntfork or McKinnon cemetaries go to that off to the side will be a menu and be sure to visit the history page and the wyoming woodtick page you will find a lot of information on the stoll family and also the Finchs were married into the Jarvie family, a lot of history there. As for Uncle Jack John Robinson he is burried in the old Fort Bridger State Park, in Fort Bridger Wyoming and I have a photo of the grave stone.
