My grandmother is Hanna Mary Horgan she m. William Patrick Shea. Hanna's parents were Patrick Horgan and Julia O'Connor (They had 14 or 15 children) Patrick's parents were John Horgan and Maryann McAuliffe ( John's brother Patrick married Maryann's sister Catherine and they had about 10 children) John and Patrick's father was Daniel P. Horgan, I do not know his wife's name, nor do I know if John and Patrick had any other siblings. Some of John's children, at least 2 (John J m. Ellen Daily - 6 kids and Cornelius m. Anne ? -3? kids) went to Minneapolis, Minnesota.
My grandmother started in Minnesota and was a nurse in WWI m. her LT. and settled in NY(Brooklyn)
Any info is appreciated, thank you in advance, Sheila

Where were your Horgan's from? All I know about my Irish grandfather is that he was Cornelius Horgan and that he was from County Cork. He did have some siblings that I know of: a sister, Mary (Mollie) Horgan Halloran and a brother, Daniel. I think he died in the early 1900's. Ring any bells?

Hi Kathy, I have 3 Cornelius Horgans (one the son of Patrick Horgan and Julia O'Connor
this would be an granduncle of mine b/1896-d/9-3-1965 he married a Hanna Murphy and had 3 children that I know of, all still in Ireland--I still visit them from time to time.--The other would be a great grand uncle b. 8/12/1896 in Boherbue (this information I got from the church of latter day saints) Then there is a Cornelius Horgan who would be the equivelant of my grand uncle who is the grandson of Patrick Horgan and Cathering McAuliffe. This Con died about 1912 He is from the Mullane side of the family. There is a Nanci Horgan on their side doing the same research and we keep in touch. I am going back in August for a wedding, a daughter of another Cornelius Horgan, she is my frist cousin once removed.
Does any of this help, Sheila

So, Sheila, tell me what you know about Cornelius, the son of Patrick Horgan and Catherine McAuliffe. The date of death seems to be about right. My grandfather Cornelius had two siblings that I know of, Mary and Daniel. He, Cornelius, died I think in Union City, NJ, when my mother was vrey young. The only thing she remembered was that he came from County Cork. she was quite proud of that! Kathy

Hi Kathy,
I will have to do a little research and get back to you. I really don't know too much about him. My grandmother came over in the early 1900's with a few siblings, they went to Minnesota first. She met my grandfather in WWI, some of them stayed behind. She was one of 15. I am going home in August for a Horgan wedding, though they can be tight lipped about those who are no longer with us, I will see what I can find out.

Hi Jim, I'm pretty sure Nanci would not mind, but not 100% so I gave her your email address and directed her to this web site. All I show is that that Cornelius Horgan died around 1910 (actually 1912 is what I show) I do not have any info about a wife or children. Have you checked out WWW.Church of latter day saints.com (I usually do a web search for The Church of Latter Day Saints and then pick the one that has geneology information. If I can be of any more help just let me know. Good Luck, Sheila

I have a Thomas Horgan in my family who married my great - great grandfathers sister Catherine. I have year of birth and death for Thomas as 1853-1886. They lived in Minneapolis, Mn. Do you have a record of a Thomas Horgan in you family? His nick-name was Con. The first message I left you may be strange because I thought you were my Aunt Sheila. We have both been reserching our Sullivan side of the family and we have been discussing Con. If you have any information, it would be appreciated. Kate
