Hi Craig,

I checked out your site for Sharrow's and it was very impressive! Looks like you have done a lot of research and put it together nicely.

I don't know if there is a connection between my Sharrow's and yours or not, but will give the little info that I do have:

John Sharrow (Sherrow, Sherro, Sharo, Sherer)
b: c 1800, possibly VA or OH
migrated from OH to IN after 1834
m: Elizabeth -----?
children: Jemima, b c 1834 / 1835, Starke Co, OH

It appears that John died shortly after Jemima's birth, and Elizabeth remarried to a Wm Peck, who had 13 children himself. It does not look like Wm and Elizabeth had any children of their own.

Jemima Sharrow m: William Pettit, probably Fulton Co, IN
children: Elizabeth Jane, Anne / Anna, Julia, Margaret

William Pettit died after the birth of his 4th daughter when kicked in the head by a horse.

This line has proved particularly difficult. I have not been able to find John Sharrow in any census before 1850, Fulton Co, IN. Some census variations show the name spelled Sharo. I have a family photo, with several spellings on the back of it - but - ALL spellings include the "O" ending. Because of this pronunciation, I am inclined to believe there was no R intended at the end of the name, and this concurs with your French origins for the name.

Do you have any information that may link this John Sharrow to your Sharrow's or others that you have collected information on?

Thanks for creating the Sharrow website - I found it most interesting.

Hi, Before I was adopted my last name was Sharrow, I grew up in Michigan. From what I gathered which was not much, is that my Grandfather Was Lawrence John Sharrow who married a Beverly Ilen Berdue at one point. They had two children, Larry John Sharrow and Marie Ileta Sharrow. Uhmm, I heard that my grandfather in somewhere in the early 80's had several strokes or heart problems and was placed into a nursing home. Somewhere in Detroit or about the erea. If you reconized any names, or might think theres a possible connection, e-mail me, please. The E-mail address I use is Stormyiray@msn.com Thanks for your time. I. Ray

Hi Laura:

I've just begun to add some Charlevoix Sharrows from census data, but have not been able to linke them to the main Charron lines.

I'll keep a lookout for your Sharrows. If you find any additional info on them I'd appreciate it if you'd pass it on to me to add to the Sharrow database.

Have you tried the Charlevoix Genealogical Society?(CGS) They were very helpful in finding information on my ancestors who happen to have the last name McClanaghan. I am not
sure it there is a relation. I did notice on the 1930 Census an Elsie McClanaghan who was 16 and parents were Henry and
Sarah.

You can contact the CGS at P.O. Box 7, Boyne City, MI,
