Many African American settlers in rural NW Louisiana traveled West for economic and employment gains. Many of these individuals made this area their final resting spot so we identified a few cemeteries that had African American connections to NW LA.

George Allen,

I was just pulling up my father, Charlie Guinn, and to my surprise a picture of his headstone appeared on one on your pages. At one point he is listed as Charlie Elliott. He is buried in Core cemetery, but CORE is located in JEFFERSON, TX.
His name also listed under Charlie Elliott. We were related to the Elliotts, but my father is a Guinn.

Thank you,

Emily Guinn McGinnis
