I am looking for examples by the Edy Bros. photography studio which was located in London, Ontario Canada at 214 Dundas Street between 1883 and 1920.

Obviously those photo's with inscriptions, names dates and messages are of the most interesting but,if you have examples where you have speculated that the photograph may or may not be a certain family, these also would be welcome.

No not specific families, but all and any photographs taken by the Edys as there is currently no central collection of their work.

Eventually, any collection will be turned over to the London Public Library, and as facial recognition applications become more sophisticated future generations will be able to see and gain more knowledge of their families.

I am starting with the Edy's as a Great-grand daughter claims that by seeing the inscriptions and embossing of the Edys work, she can more accurately determine the dates when the photographs were taken.

Hello Peter,

I have recently completed a co-op placement at Western Archives, and I am fairly certain that I saw many examples of Edy Brothers' work there while going through various local fonds. I don't think these photographs are catalogued by photographer, but the staff may be able to point you to some specific examples.
