Hi Jerry David,
My name is Buddy Stover and maybe I can give you info on your family. I'm sure we are related but we have to get back to , probably, your great grandfather. Do you know who Merlin Stovers father was? I believe if I know that then I'll be able to make a connection. 99 % of the Stovers came from Jacob Stover 1764-1847 and Sarah McGhee who settled in Clear Fork, Raleigh County in about 1810-1815.
Jerry David you can email me direct at BuddyStover@prodigy.net I'll be anxiously waiting to hear from you.
Buddy

Maany pages show John J. Stover b. 1795, however if one figures backward using info from his tombstone, his correct birthdate is 23 SEP 1806 (tombstone shows d. 30 JUN 1890, aged 83y, 9m, 8d). Furthermore his wife would have been born abt. 1806 (tombstone shows d. 26 JAN 1900, aged 88y). Hope this helps clear things up a bit! BTW, their tombstone and marriage records show wife's name as CATHARINE, not CATHERINE...

Dear Mr. Stover:

I was greatly excited to find your post for information regarding the Stover's of WV. My grandfather William Franklin Stover (everyone called him Frank) was from Logan, WV.; however he lived in Kanawaha Co. for an unknown period of time. He was a mining foreman. He lived and worked in Kanawha and Logan Counties, possibly McDowell Co. I would greatly like to correspond further with you regarding securing information on the Stovers which I am also researc hing.

Thanking you in advance for your helpfulness in this matter, I remain,

Sincerely,

Donna Staufer Collins-Wood
