In a posting on Ancestry.com dated July 17, 2001; you mention
Hello I am a descendant from the Va. Reeds that had emigrated to South Carolina. The Reeds along with the Bartletts were of Indian ancestry. The migration of these families began in the mid 1700's through the early 1800's. Please contact me at the above address for more info on this family which extended from the Nottaway and Chowan rivers since the late 1600's."
Is it possible that one of the Reed decendents moved to Kentucky and had a son named Samuel Reed (dob 1792). Who Moved to Moniteau/Cole/Boone Counties in Missouri and Married Frances Patterson (also born in Kentucky) Marriage in Cole County 1824. When Frances died Samue Maried Ruth Swearengin she was born in 1837. Samuel Reed had 19 children. He was a black smith by trade.
The family storie say he was a full blooded Cherokee Indian. I don't know what would information would help you, so here is the pedigree I have; I can send information on the childrne's children if you find this helpful.
Thanks so much, Sue Latham, Moniteau County, Calfiornia, Missouri 65018 email@example.com
