Surnames: Slattery, Callanan, Head
Hello -

I am looking for information about the Slattery/Callanan/Head family from Killimor, Co. Galway. The only docs I have tying them to this location simply state "Killimor," and are from the 1850s - so I am unsure if they refer to "Killimordaly", "Killimor-bologue", or what is today just known as "Killimor." I'm not exactly sure what the difference is myself.

Winifred Slattery (daughter of Michael Callanan and Mary Head and a "native of Killimor") immigrated to the U.S. in 1849, after her husband, Michael Slattery, died. She was quickly followed by her 5 children: Winifred, Mary, John, Michael and James. After staying in New York for a few years, they eventually settled in St. Louis, MO.

Any information would be welcome. Can anybody do any lookups in the Church books? Many thanks.

-Phill Slattery

my g grandfather came from kilimor, his name was Michael -he was born on/about 1842--he had a brother named Martin and a sister named Bridget---their mother's maiden name was Costello--- Michael married Catherine Canty (Carrigaholt, Co Clare)--they lived in St Louis and ended up in New Orleans--Michael died in 1881 and is buried in St Patrick's #1 cemetery in NOLA--he has too many descendants from his two daughters (Mary and Catherine, who married a Crawford and Dempsey respectively to even count (--Catherine later married again and had 3 more children)

Cant wait to tell the Starbucks retired gang that I may be related to a Calahan (spelling different ?) --he is a character in the retired group-from irish channel and a realllllllllllcharacter
