Trying to locate names of siblings of my paternal grandfather, Richard Edward Mooney - who went by Ed. He was the son on Richard Priscilla Mooney of Belmont Ohio. He was born 4/6/1871 and died 11/18/1929. He was married to Mary Proellochs in WV and they had 6 children. Alice, Ruth, Richard(my father), Harry, Calvin, Marie. My grandfathers siblings were Walter, Frank, George (who I believe had a son Orville?), Mrs. Sessler of Martins Farry, Mrs. Pasters of Mozart, Mrs. Cora Hennan of Cleveland, and Mrs. Chester Dean of Wheeling. This info is from my grandfather obituary. Would love to know more information about my great grandparents, especially Priscilla's maiden name...where did they come from, etc. Would be glad to share any info I have on the family as well as the Proellochs, Keene, and Cox family. Thanks for any leads.

Hi,
My name is Kathleen Pasters LaGrasse. My grandfather was Frank Pasters, married to Lillian Mooney. My dad, Frank William Pasters was born in Martins Ferry Ohio. His two sisters, Catherine and Marie, were also from Martins Ferry. They moved to Wheeling West Virginia. My grandmother, Lillian, died when my dad was a child. I am told she committed suicide.

My grandmother's name is Lillian Loretta Mooney born 1895 and died in 1940 In Wheeling WV. Her father's name is Richard Mooney and her mother's name is Priscilla. I found a Richard Edward Mooney born in 1871 who was married to Mary Proellochs whose mother is listed as Priscilla and father is listed as Richard Mooney. I also found a John William Mooney who was born in 1868 and died in 1922. A Rebecca Mooney's signature was on the death certificate. His father is listed as Richard Mooney and his mother is listed as Priscilla Eiseman. The names of their father and mother leads me to believe that they are my grandmother's brothers. My grandmother married Frank Pasters (my grandfather). My fathers name is Frank William Pasters. He was born in Martin's Ferry Ohio and lived in Wheeling WV.

The Richard Edward & Mary P. are my grandparents. Your grandmother seems to be the Mrs. Pasters of Mozart that is listed in my grandfathers obit as his sister. Do you know Pricilla's maiden name or where either she or our greatgrandfather was born. Annette Mooney Jackson

Hi,

I have a copy of John William Mooney's death certificate and it lists his parents as Richard Mooney and Priscilla Eiseman. I hope that helps. Sounds as though we are distant cousins. I found the death certicate on the West Virginia site (death index vital research records. I'm still researching Priscilla. My e-mail is GrassyKat @ hotmail.com

You may be interested in this e-mail that I received: My #1 husband George was the son of Lillian's brother, George Sutton Mooney. My George never knew anything about the Mooney family except about his father and his own siblings. George Sutton Mooney's first wife was Emma Coss and they had one son William Melvin Mooney.George Sutton Mooney's second wife was Beulah Virginia Larimore. George Sutton was an architect in Wheeling WV. I have a copy and a photo of him and his achievements from a book Prominent Men in WV. Beulah is the one who gave me Richard Mooney a and Priscilla's Sutton's as great grandparents names for my baby book for our #1 daughter in 1950.

It seems the Priscilla Eiseman married to a Richard Mooney and parents to John William Mooney may be a different line.
