I too am from Bowen Geoff Rotenberry, James J. Rotenberry married to Cornelia Jane McGuire. Would like to share info with you. The only TN connection I know of is with Frederic's son, William. Is this your connection.

I would like to find more about McDaniel Rotenberry married to Nancy Bowen in Mechlenburg Co. VA. McDaniel in is Wake Co. N. C. by 1810 and is in the census there in 1840.I believe he is the father of Bowen Geoff and Frederick but have no proof.

Cornelia and James J or A, shown as both, were in the 1860 census for Limestone Co. AL. James disappeared or died by the middle 1860's and Cornelia married William L. Taylor.

Cornelia Jane McGuire Rotenberry Taylor is my gr gr grandmother on my mother's side. My mother was Pauline Hall, daughter of Sam Hall and Ellen Harris. Ellen Harris was the daughter of Martha Ellen Rotenberry and Walter A. Harris. Martha Ellen Rotenberry is the daughter of Cornelia Jane McGuire and James Rotenberry. William L. Taylor and Cornelia Jane came to Jackson Co., Tupelo, Arkansas by 1880 census. In 1880 Cornelia had already died. Martha Ellen, Mary E., and William B. all died before 1900.

Would love to share information.

Would love to unravle the Bibb Co. and Limestone Co. connection. I am sure they are related but certainly cannot prove how. My Bowen G. and his brother Fredereck L Rotenberry came to Limestone about the same time as Pressley came to Bibb. My Bowen G.'s son James A. (J) married Cornelia Jane McGuire and disappears by mid 1860s.
There were Collier families in Limestone Co. and they intermarried with the Harris families in Limestone Co. The Colliers, Harris, Jones, Robbins, Walls, and other families migrated to Jackson Co.Tupelo, Arkansas over a period of 20 years. Cornelia and James' daughter married Walter Harris in Jackson Co. AR. Walter Harris' father was James F. Harris and his sister was married to a Collier in Limestone Co. AL. I have a lot of information I would like to share and see if you can answer some of my questions.

I assume you have the notice that Pressley's wife put in the newspaper telling everyone her health was fine. I just love the article. If not, can send to you.

Email me at CMCFARL641@ao.com if you like.

Sounds like you are ahead of me - William L was my GGgrandfather - with his wife Mary Elizabeth Lewis- he was born I think in Pulaski, Giles Co., TN- must have moved to Limestone Co., AL as a child - can't find him on any of the census records in TN - I understand he lied about his age and joined to Confederate Army in CW. I have some pages of a bible that listed the birth dates of all the Rotenberry children - would be glad to make a copy for you - but sounds like you have done extensive research. I just really got started last year.Victoria Taylor Houghton, you can e-mail me at vbh@centurytel.net.
