Saw your message on the CoalMiners Co. page along with the name KOZUBAL. I am also researching that surname. I have who I believe to be my grandfather Immigrating from Austria\\Hungary (Galicia) in 1900 going to Scranton, Pa. His brother was to meet him in NYC. The only KOZUBAL I can find in NE PA. in that time frame is a Frank KOZUBAL in Lazurene Co. Pa. which is close to Scranton. Do you think we may have a connection Here?

In response to your posted message, my grandfather came to the USA in about 1888 from Spisska Nova Ves, Slovakia (@ that time Austria-Hungary) and settled in western Pennsylvania. My Kozbelt surname was originally spelled Kozbial and has origins in both Slovakia and Galicia (Mala-Polska/Little Poland) or Wadowice, Poland. Although our names aren't the same, they are similar enough that I thought that I should post this return message. I am interested in hearing from anyone who knows of any connection to the Kozbial/Kozbelt surname.
