I am related to Samuel Fenton & Elizabeth Dix. The Fenton name is on a page of our family bible. I have a Jeremiah "Stella's Jerry" Fenton (b.7/7/1779) married Susanna Records. Their 10 children are listed but I don't see how they are related to melinda Fenton who married Allen T. Shinn, who was my gggrandfather. The bible is from Nebraska
Any information please reply. Nic nvancamp@cox.net

Melinda was the daughter of John "Kentucky John" Fenton and Sarah "Sally" Field. Melinda was born 7/9/1812 in West Union, Adams, Ohio, and died Dec 26, 1885 in Carson, Iowa. She is buried in Henderson, Iowa.

Kentucky John is the brother of "Stiller" Jerry (not Stella's Jerry), sons of Samuel Fenton and Elizabeth Dixon Dicks.
The handwriting in the bible you have is probably hard to read or someone couldn't spell "Stiller."

If you are anywhere near Columbus, Ohio, there is a book on the family history of Jeremiah Fenton (1764-1841) at the State Library of Ohio.
