Surnames: Eckert family from Ny
Hi,
My family comes from Ulster county New York. I dont know any of those names but my g-grandfather was Edward James Eckert b-1883
my grandfather was James (Sparky) Eckert b-1908-1910
Sparky was killed in Newburgh on July29,1954 building the Thruway or 84. Im not sure which one was under construction at that time. There was an article about the accident in the local paper in investigating that now.
These are James children
William Or Bill
Barbara, James, Lillian (sissy), Patricia (Pat), Harry.
Harry was a twin but the other boy died at birth.
Im told there was some family connestion to the Partington family also.
hope there is a connection some where.
Thankyou
Debra

Surnames: Palmer
Debra;
I have noticed several Eckert families in the Ulster County area and wondered if they might be related.
My grandmother was Ida Eckert (m: Palmer) b: 16 Sep 1890 in Esopus Twp.
Her parents were David J. Eckert b: Abt 1869 and Elizabeth Fitzgerald b: Abt 1872.
Children: Alva b: 1892
Lester b: 1895
David S.b: 1899
Clifford b: 1903
Jessie b: 1905
Floyd b: 1908
David J. Eckert’s father was Henry (Heinrich ?) Eckert b: Abt 1829 in Germany.
Our great-grandfather Eckert’s may have been brothers. ??

I will have to ask my mom if any of these are names she has heard.
The story as I know it is my gggrandfather Edward James Eckert was a little nuts and my grandfather and him had words and my grandfather James Edward Eckert left home at an early age and was a boarder at the home of Stanten in 1920 in Marlborough N.Y. She also remembers a Mr. Partington bringing him(ggrandfather) to my grandfathers funeral in1954. But she was only 15 when he died and doesnt remember ever knowing her grandfather or her grandmother on that side. I will stay in touch with any futher developments I come up with.
Thankyou for the reply
Do you live in the ulster or orange county area at this time?

I have a Raymond Eckert, b: 1928, son of Lester Eckert. Lester & my grandmother were brother/sister. We may have a connection. His birth date would fit.

The only thing I know about my Eckert's so far. Herman Eckert married my Greatgrandmother's older sister Daisy Hess. They lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Daisy died in 1939. I only have census records to go by for any names.
Thank You for the time
