Yes, lemonade & other similar soft drinks. You could buy them at Davie Chalmer's shop on the corner of Glasgow Road & Station Road; and at Hamilton's on Station Road.

Dee

Hi Alan,
I sincerely hope you read this as computers are not my strong point. I'll cut this short for the moment. Did you live in Milngavie with your Mum and a brother and your grandparents ?. Was your grand dad an owner/director of Garvies soft drink factory ?.

Hi John

You have it exactly correct. Yes myself, my brother Gordon and my mum Morag stayed there with mum's parents Wiiliam and Mary. My mum split from my dad must have been around 1970 and the three of us moved to Milngavie. Grandpa was one of the Garvie brothers who owned the company. I can give you lots more information so we need to speak more. As you may suspect I have some sad stories to tell you as well. Best wishes for now. Alan

It's fantastic to hear from you . I was beginning to think that my brother (Ronald) were the only Weir's left in the world. Here is my e-mail address which please use for further correspondence as I find this site difficult. e-mail address: johnweir1952@gmail.com. Looking forward to your reply already.
