This a photo of my great aunt, in uniform, and her brother, enlisted in the US Navy in 1942. I don't know when the photo was taken. My great aunt was not a nurse. Can anyone identify her uniform? Her cap badge looks like the one worn by civilian pilots of the Air Corps Ferry Command, so I am thinking WAFS. What do you experts think? I am NOT well versed in military uniforms at all.

Thanks in advance,
Pam Reid

Officer. Captain or Major. Flight wings on Cap. I recommend contacting National archives for her service record.

WAFS and WASPS were issued Berets not soft caps with bills. Looks like a Driver uniform to me.

If enlisted in Army..NARA online database of enlistments 1939-1946

Ancestry has Navy Muster rolls and crew lists. With his name you maybe able to look up when he was given the First Class Machinist Mate Rate. (sleeve insignia) That way you can date the picture or closely.
