Searching for background on David Thomas SANSARICQ born in 1769 in Bayonne and travelled to Haiti in early 1800's as a corsaire. I have all the decendents from him until now, but I have no information about his family ancestry.
Any information is appreciated for example christening records or his parents' marriage record...

Hello,

I am married to Antoine Philippe Sansaricq, son of Marie Henriette Violette Sansaricq (born Fils-Aimé)& Antoine Constantin Sansaricq.
My husband & I would also like to have the records of David Thomas Sansaricq.
I will check to see what we can add to your search, because I believe we could get hold of some info and we could share info with each other!
I just found this site :)

Best regards,
Monika

Hello,

You had the right idea of posting here then because it reminded me I had already looked for this surname once, but forgot to post it in the end... so here it is (at last)!

Bayonne is in the departement of Pyrénées-Atlantiques (#64): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayonne

whose archives are available on-line: http://earchives.cg64.fr/etat-civil-search-form.html

You'll find a screen copy of the record in attachment with the references at the bottom: microfilm 5Mi102/18 (Bayonne, parish Notre-Dame: parish registers, period 1767-1784), picture/page #147

Now, you're really lucky as there are also indexes (Tables) for almost all of Bayonne parish registers (from 1668) so searching for the records will be incredibly easier if the family hasn't moved: for example, I've found his parents married in Bayonne, on October 14th, 1766:

Picture #1291 : FRAD064006_5MI102_17_1291.jpg
- 1 bann, dispensation for the usual 2 other ones
- Antoine SANSARRIC (signed Sansaricq), copper master, son of Armand SANSARRIC, also copper master, and Marie d'ETCHEVERRI
- Marie GARAT, daughter of the late Augustin GARAT, Officier Marinier (~Navy Sub-Officer) and Françoise CASAUX.
both from Bayonne
- witnesses: Antoine BALANGUÉ, Simon LUBISE, Bertrand LARROUDÉ, Pierre PEGROS.

Let me know if you would like a complete translation too.

Best regards,
Amandine

Monika,
David was quite prolific! he sailed to haiti with 2 of his sons. one stayed in haiti and the other went to Cuba. David himself then had like 10 other children. I only kept the family line directly to me on my tree. You can find the whole thing with every branch on this link - http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~htiwgw/familles/sansaricq....
Good luck!

one more thing, there is a branch of the family in Cuba, some have already migrated here, and another branch in Argentina. I don't know much about that one as I only just recently heard about them.
