Hello, I know your last post was two years ago, but I thought you might be able to help me with information on the first person on your list - Friedrich Wilhelm Burghardt (men who missed their military service in 1859). Friedrich came to Australia around 1860 as a Evangelical Missionary.
I know he trained in Berlin, but I'm trying to find out where he was born. Can you give me some more information on where I can find these missed military service records? I will be in Germany in around 3 weeks.

You may want to contact the town's archives (info near bottom of page):

http://wiki-de.genealogy.net/Rotenburg_an_der_Fulda

It appears that there are "Familienstammbuch" that can be purchased at the civil registration office. I can seem to find any more info about them, and it doesn't appear that there are any available second-hand online.
