Need help reading census image

Need help reading census image

The attached image is an occupation note I found in an 1836 census listing from St. Leger, Lot-et-Garonne. I can read "proprietaire a" but can not make out the rest of it. Perhaps someone on this list can help.

Merci,
Morris

Difficult to say with just an extract. It's a town name, perhaps Port de Pascau, nearby St Léger, but no guarantee.

Here's the Cassini map from late 1700's to get an idea of the villages and place names around St Léger: http://www.gencom.org/France/Cassini.aspx?CARTE=72&LOCAL...

Thank you, Amandine. It certainly seems to be a place name and I did not know about Port de Pascau. Excellent map, as well.
