Surnames: Clay
I only have the name of my Great Great Grandmother, Laura Clay as was on her marriage license to Francis M Langston on June 24, 1892. I know she died before 1900 and is believed to be buried in Whitefield, OK. She does not have a marker. I NEED HELP PLEASE! Any suggestions or advise to try & locate more info on her or her parents would be appreciated so very much!!!!!
Thank you,

Do you know when, where she was born? Have you found her in either the 1880 census, or perhaps a state census. Have you found her husband in 1900 census? Any of these could offer clues to her whereabouts, maybe parents.

Worth a try.

How do I know for sure that this family from Spadra, AR is Laura's family? She was from Sans Bois, OK when she married.

Thanks,
Gwenda

At this point you CAN'T, so don't assume this is the correct woman without further research.

It's very easy (too easy) to "match names" at ancestry, and sometimes the results are disastrous to accurate research.

Do you know where and when her husband died? She could be buried next to or near him...

You have parents' names for her in your tree. What are the sources for those?

What sources have you tried for her death and burial info?

Where does she "not have a marker"? in a specific cemetery?

The ONLY info that I know for sure & I have on my Great Great Grandmother, Laura Clay Langston is her marriage license. Her 1st name on the license has been interpreted in manyways: Laura, Laurie, Lancie.

According to a family source, she is buried in Whitefield, OK with no marker. She died before 1900. Her spouse, Francis Langston, didn't die until after 1920 and I'm still trying to locate his burial. She died so young that her children didn't remember her at all. The family members that would know have died before anyone got any further info from them, sadly!!

I don't have her parents. I have tried multiple sources and no luck. The state of Oklahoma didn't start keeping records until after 1908. I have asked for various help out of Oklahoma and Arkansas and no one has found anything on her as of date.

HELP!!

I put in the parents that were suggested to me out of Spadra, Ark to see if they would potentially lead me to the truth of her heritage. But, it still hasn't opened any doors.
